The Park at Ranthambore was the hunting preserve of the Maharajas of Jaipur where hunting parties were organized for them. At present, it is one of the best places in the India to enjoy the pleasure of viewing majestic predators and is famously known for its tigers. You can often experience the view of tigers at the Ranthambore National Park in their normal pursuits that is hunting and taking care of their young ones. With the strict measures that have been taken for their accustomed to human activity and are not disturbed by it. The best time to capture the glorifying wildlife of Ranthambore is between November and April as you can also enjoy the sightings of the dry deciduous forests during that period. Not only this, there is a large number of sambar, chital, and nilgai at Ranthambore which make it more wild.

Most of the animals like the sounders of boar and the chinkara along with the deer, congregate at the lakes and pools, which is the easiest way of having a look of a wide range of wilds including leopard, hyena, jackal, jungle cats, sloth bear, marsh crocodile, Jacanas, and white necked stork. There are few birds which are present in abundant like Boneeli’s eagle, crested serpent eagle, the great Indian horned owl, quail, partridge, spur fowl, and the paradise flycatcher. This park of Ranthambore is spread over an area of 392 sq. km. between the Aravalli and Vindhya ranges. One of its facts is that its deciduous forests constituted the major part of the dense forests of the Central India many years ago. Its rugged terrain consists of various rocky ridges, hills, and open land with lakes and pools. Ranthambore also manifests its royal past in the picturesque ruins that dot the Park. Its royal past is revealed from its lake palaces, chhatris, old fortifications, and the splendrous old fort at a height overlooking the park and was constructed around thousand years ago. One of its eye-catching features is its forest rest house at the foot of the Ranthambore fort is captured inside the lovely Jogi Mahal with a tank embellished with the floating beautiful Padam Talao with lilies.

Day 05: Ranthambore

Bandhavgarh National Park is a common meeting point of history and nature and is not at a far distance from Kanha. It is surrounded by the Vindhyan ranges and comprises of a series of ridges passing through it. It is famous for its high density of tiger population with around 25 resident tigers over an area of 105.40 sq. km. earlier. But at present, it is spread over an area of 437 sq. km. in which half of it is covered with fine stands of Sal where as you can experience the view of mixed forests over the elevated reaches of the hills. The stretches of bamboo and grasslands extend to the north. Its most arresting feature is its area in the core of the Park with 32 picturesque and forested hills.
